This training course is designed to raise awareness of the factors that affect your ability to operate your car or motorcycle safety and addresses key elements such as:
The course is divided into five sections. Sections 1 - 4 are Theory and group sessions that are run in a classroom environment. Typically these will be divided into two sessions per week (approx 2 hours each) to enable the course to be completed within a fortnight. Session 5 is a practical session which will be conducted with a qualified motorcycle instructor (approx 1 hour). The practical session is designed to give you feedback on your readiness for the full licence test. Successful completion of the streettalk course is recognised as a qualifying scheme to reduce your restricted licence period.
To qualify for the scheme, you must hold a current class 6 restricted motorcycle licence. Under the age of 25, you must have held your restricted motorcycle licence for at least 6 months. Over the age of 25 you can apply as soon as you obtain your class 6 restricted motorcycle licence. You must have your own motorcycle with a current WOF and registration to complete the practical session. Please note: Riderskills will only accept applications from motorcycle riders as the practical session will be conducted on a motorcycle. The streettalk course requires a minimum number of students to facilitate the group training elements. If student numbers are insufficient Riderskills reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the course. At least 4 days notice will be given if the case arises. Pricing:
